Abstract: Matrix pseudo-inverse and rank computation are standard tech- niques in linear algebra and nd application in many theoretical anal- yses as well as real world algorithms. The purpose of this technical note is to describe a general technique for computing matrix pseudo- inverse and rank of arbitrary non-square matrices using another tech- nique from linear algebra - the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization or QR factorization.
